I spent the morning stretching and then watching the corps do some physical training. I also was creeping on our brass sextet reversing their William Tell Overture encore. It is really good. I thought it was going to be a good day...
We had an extra long visual block. In the heat. We went from around noon to 3. Lunch was at 3. So there wasn't a real time to 'break'. I am not complaining. I'm just voicing my own opinion. Maybe? I'm not sure. But they definitely work hard. That's all I'm saying. Maybe too hard. No. I don't know. I will get back to you on that
I called my mom after lunch and we talked for a while. I was maybe having second thoughts about all this. Maybe it wasn't what I thought it was going to be? Who knows.
I walked up to the field and the entire brass section was doing some articulation warm ups. As I got right in front of them, they went into a huge loud chorale. And I remembered why I was here.
After that, I was charged up for brass sectional rehearsal. I was ready to go. And it was a great rehearsal compared to the morning.
The brass split up into sections
This is the end of the show
Snack was dino nuggets and mac and cheese and some pudding and other snacks. Then I went to the bus and listened to some barbershop music to get some more good energy flowing.
Then I chilled at baritone sectionals again. They are sounding pretty good.
I made friends with the pit instructor guys by running the met for them.
Tonight we had a great ensemble rehearsal. This show is going to be so good I can't even stand it. Everything is in place for this corps to be amazing, fantastic, insane. It will be awesome to see these performances starting on Saturday.
I want to be here. And don't let me tell you otherwise.
